Hornets Set Up Camp In Swedish Home, Don't Make Great House Pets

Imgur user annatzk hails from Sweden and had this to say about her recent hornet infestation: "At first there where only a couple a day. Because they're considered endangered (they were until recently) I did not want to harm them, but it became quite a task to keep them outside. No swarms, but enough to freak you out! I found them everywhere, in my hair and on my clothes. I considered just abandoning my house at one point... "

"We called pest control but by the time we got the spray to use on the nest they had gone to hibernation. Since they live in the chimney and we've been using the fireplace I don't think I'm a hornet keeper any more. But honestly I didn't mind them at all at first. They're pretty chill. But the sting really hurts for a long time!"

What we gather from this debacle is that all in all, hornets are pretty chill, but the sting is a pain in the behind (and wherever you've been stung). Best to just avoid these little fellas altogether. They clearly do not make great house pets. We'll stick to cats and dogs thank you very much.

YIKES. They may look cute, yellow and fluffy, but these feisty critters are packing a serious punch. Stay away!

"it's a European hornet. It's endangered in some places, but not in Sweden where I live." Phew, all of a sudden we feel less bad about wishing all of these danger seeking critters would magically disappear from this woman's home.
